The most interesting and intriguing part of the Indian Movie
"Satta Matka Deva" is the scene wherein Sita is seen making out with
her brother Duryodha while he is supposed to be away on a fishing trip with his
father. When Sita's mother Pappu arrives, she orders her daughter not to eat or
drink while her husband is away. Sita refuses and Pappu leaves in a huff. Sita
then begins making love with Duryodha while he is supposed to be away, but he
manages to sneak in while the priest is absent.
The movie depicts Sita as the epitome of female virtues, but her
infidelity may have robbed her of some of her sex appeal. In one scene, Sita is
seen taking a bath while her brother is away, but when she is asked for a
guess, she mumbles an unfamiliar word and the room suddenly fill with a foul
odor. This suggests that Sita may be able to sense her brother's guilt by her
actions and so is trying to compensate for it by making love with Duryodha. But
in another scene, Sita is seen reclining lazily on a bed while her brother
prepares for his day fishing.
Could Satta Matka be about jealousy or is there more to it? Most
likely, this film depicts the very root of discontentment, anxiety and boredom
that plagues many people throughout their lives. What makes this story all the
more relevant today is the fact that most people like myself do not possess
excitement or vigor in life. We are programmed by our creators to be passive
and unactive. And although this movie targets females, we know that most men also
go through similar situations.
When it comes to entertainment, Satta Matka Manipur is the
epitome of all that is online. Rajdeep Thuka Ravi Verma, who plays the lead
role of Sita, not only possesses attraction and intrigue, but also seems to
have been molded by the online revolution like me. As a matter of fact, Rajdeep
has appeared online earlier this year in a similar film called Khaleja, where
he played an intelligent terrorist. He seems to have been well read in the
blogs and online journals and is clearly someone well above the average
individual.
satta matka manipur is a decent film directed by Shimit Amin, who is
best known for his films such as Kazaa, Namastey London and Bhumika Mumbai.
Although this movie is not at par with his earlier work, it is still a decent
enough to watch, albeit one that doesn't leave you spellbound like the first
few scenes. The story is typical of its genre and does its job well, while its
followers enjoy every minute of it. Like most of Amin's films, there are some
good comedy sequences, which I liked, and some moments of real quality
entertainment, which I am not sure why the other viewers did not like.
However, there is one sequence in which the film hits the right
note and the entire film becomes about Satta Matka, who doesn't merely possess
excitement and attraction, but has the ability to make even the most dull of
plots into something of interest. This sequence makes me realize just how
smartly and brilliantly Shimit Amin is able to weave his stories. Although I
would not say that Satta Matka Manipur is at par with some of the best
Pakistani movies made in the past, it is still an okay film, which will
probably do very well considering the fact that Amin is an extremely talented
person. Overall, I give the film four stars out of five, which is a pretty good
rating.
